Fair Work system goes online

29 June 2009

An online entry point to the Fair Work system has been switched on, ahead of major parts of the new Act taking effect from July 1.

Fair Work Online is the “gateway” for information on the Fair Work System, which has three elements - Fair Work Australia, the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Fair Work Divisions of the Federal Court and Federal Magistrates Court.

Separate websites have been set up for
Fair Work Australia and the Fair Work Ombudsman.

Meanwhile, Fair Work Australia will hold a ceremonial sitting in Sydney on July 1 to mark the new organisation’s commencement. The sitting will be streamed live via the FWA website.

The Attorney-General, Robert McClelland, last week made regulations to provide for the fees to be charged for applications to hear matters in the Federal and Federal Magistrates courts.
